I’ve not been a regular blogger recently whilst I’m away in the Isles of Scilly attempting to resist all the heavy cream-based beverages (oh the clotted cream 😋) and I have to admit, it is one of the most difficult things I have had to do.
I’m sure many of you struggling dieters out there will sympathise with me. When on holiday how can you resist?
Cornish pasties and ice cream when you’re away are always very tempting, will power in general just tends to go out the window. So here are my top tips for resisting the sweet treats:
2. Don’t be afraid to treat yourself sometimes, then you are much less likely to crave all this sweet stuff all the time. If you’re away on holiday, or on a getaway, why not have an ice cream when it is unbearably hot (or even if it’s not). Just try go for the tub option so you’re not eating the cone too.
3. Try quench these cravings with a healthier alternative. Sorbet anyone? A smoothie? Dare I say it, some sort of slushie? The less cream, the better.
4. If you’re a diabetic like me, check your blood sugars and pray for a hypo.
5. ICE LOLLIES. Oh thank the heavens for ice lollies.
Really, at the end of the day, my tips can’t stop you from resisting cake or ice cream or Cornish pasties but do remember – every once in a while you don’t have to hate yourself for indulging a little. Just bear in mind you have to work a little harder to work it off.
